I like hearing about your encounters with wild animals in the city. We frequently saw coyotes when we lived on the lower slopes of the Alameda Ridge. They would den on the steep hillsides where there was a lot of dense shrubbery. Some said they even slept under hillside houses. I’m not sure about that. Once a mail carrier wasn’t able to deliver to our house because a coyote was in our (steep) yard chasing a rat. We weren’t there at the time…
