Thanks again for the nice read. My father grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota on a farm which is now the site of the Twins baseball park.My uncle Troy is almost 101 years old. He lives up north on a lake with his son, my cousin. I think it's called "Little Man Trap Lake". Keep up the good work Fran.
Kraig, I’ve written before about Bloomington. My family lived there from 1958 to 1963. We then moved to Sioux Falls, which I hated. I have fond memories of Bloomington. The house next door to us was the farmhouse of the property that had been developed into our subdivision. It still had a windmill and a henhouse that smelled really bad. The old couple was named Oxborough.
Fran, what a bounty of beauty is this week’s offering! I loved all the poems. Your writing always invites me to pay deeper attention to the world. I loved ‘Bus Therapy’ and support your idea of the book. I especially liked this: ‘Bus Therapy works! I am energized, mellowed, hollowed and filled up again. I’ve been around people, sparking on their energy’ how wonderful! Today I am exercising my creativity by cooking Sunday lunch for my loved ones, my daughter and her boyfriend: as I am mostly a vegan (and love miso paste and avocados too!) I have made tofu sofritos, a taco filling, pan sautéed corn salsa, roasted veggies (butternut squash, beets, potatoes, red onion with fresh thyme & rosemary and olive oil) and something I may still concoct for dessert. 💗
I was vegan, too, until I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis. I wasn’t eating very much fat, so my gall bladder put its energy into making gallstones. Now I’m keto. I really can’t handle carbohydrates anymore, so it’s a good solution. I am a big fan of roasting vegetables. It’s so easy, isn’t it? What you’re making sounds really good!
This post reminds me that I need to ask Chiaki to schedule a miso-making session in our new kitchen at church! :)
I make all sorts of fermented stuff, but I didn’t know you could make miso! I’ll bet it’s in my big fermentation book.

Oh, I like that! When I put this in the book, I’ll make that change. Thanks.
The toast recipe sounds intriguing. Great post and lovely pictures. Wisteria is not out here yet but lilac is.
Toast, butter, miso or Vegemite, and cottage cheese. A winning combination every time.

Glad you found a way of eating that feels healing to your body, Fran.

May I steal (borrow) a line from your "Curate your creativity" passage for my sermon remarks tomorrow?
Of course. Glad you like it.
Now I must find that wisteria! And grab some Vegemite nearby because why not? Keep on rollin' with bus therapy!
it’s about 32nd and Stark. I found several big wisterias in the neighborhood, actually.
