I so enjoy your diverse observations throughout your days. I love that flag especially since a few of us on Substack have expressed our dismay at how it appears to have become a symbol of hatred and prejudice rather than a unifying one. Also, as one tomboy to another, it's not the gender, it's the fun and freedom. So glad I don't have to wear dresses anymore, but do women have to wear stuff that looks like they've been ravaged? Middle ground, please, ladies. (Shut up, Sue, get off your soapbox.)

I used to wear ties at the office. I can tie both a four-in-hand and a Windsor. The men were supposed to wear ties, so why not me? This was in the 80s.

I rather like the idea of being one of legions who keep their garages clean and don't update their kitchens. Who knew there were others belonging to this exact subset of folks?

Your post reminds me of an anonymous quote “Life is not a race and you are never behind”. I liked it so well it’s in one of my journals. Cork is replacing all the old wood telephone poles with metal ones (they look like an aluminium alloy). Soulless and I miss the wooden ones. But I can understand as wood is furiously expensive here.

One thing Oregon has a lot of is wood. But it takes a pretty old tree to make one pole.

H-mart! I'm jealous. Vegas finally got our Ikea in 2018 and we're about to get an H-Mart later this year (or early next year). I finally feel like we're in a real city.

Thanks for writing about the mural I helped with on Hawthorne! Would it be okay if I used the photo you took of Allison and I?

Please use it with credit to me. I liked the bigger write-up in the Southeast Examiner.
